Every morning around 6 a.m. Pacific, we check the City of Surrey’s open data. New applications and status changes show up within a day of the City publishing them. The bottom of the list says when it last updated.
Projects under review or approved in principle stay while the City lists them as active. After final approval, a project stays for about two years. If a file is closed or withdrawn, it comes off at the next update. We don’t track construction yet: after approval, the next step is a building permit.
This map shows applications that need the City’s planning approval: rezonings, development permits, subdivisions and variances. Smaller projects, like a new house, duplex or multiplex that the zoning already allows, only need a building permit, so they don’t show up here.
No. Surrey Development Map is independent and isn’t affiliated with the City of Surrey. Always confirm details with official sources, like the planning report linked on each project.
